About the event
Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere is the shortest day of the year. While this day reminds us that the light will slowly be returning, we still have dark days to hibernate and incubate ideas.
Winter Solstice can also be an acknowledgment of the year. Reflecting on the past 12 months and all that has passed can help us look towards what we want to cultivate in the next season or perhaps next year.
This class will have both gentle movement and yin postures. Not only will we take time to move our bodies but we will also do some reflection and writing. I invite you to do some at home preparations, begin writing down stand out memories, lessons, thoughts, feelings or patterns from 2022. Bring your notes with you to class. Encouragement to write from a positive perspective; even if everything was not, how can you word experiences to reflect the coming light?
Please bring your own mat and any yoga props (blankets, bolsters and blocks) if you have them. No previous yoga required to participate in this class. All are welcome!
